I'm not on that ship!

From the messages I got between and after "The Hetalia Fandom" and "Accidentily in Love", I get the feeling, that many people actually seem to think that I am against shipping (which is funny, since I even stated that I own shipping pictures in the Fandom Picture).

Thinking that I don't ship at all is certainly wrong.
It's just that I am very specific about what I ship and what not, especially about Hetalia. Also that I am not really the kind of person that draws stuff like that (I draw pornographic stuff sometimes, but only with 100% original charas, since I feel bad for touching other peoples charas and making them weird).
Anyway, making me like a couple is not that difficult, I have a gigantic folder full of ships from games (Ace Attorney, Zelda, even Super Smash Bros.), books (Harry Potter) and animes (List would be way too long xD) and I don't even care, if it is with homosexual or straight couples.

But Hetalia is maybe a bit more complicated.

I am totally fine with shipping the characters.
In all honesty, I have about nine folders, each filled with around 30 pics of all kinds of pairs (and it could be more, if I would actually search them and not just add whatever I find by coincidence). Plus a folder for ships that I don't have in my "I totally love it" list. I enjoy quite a lot, INCLUDING the pairs that I had "bad-mouthed" in my Hetalia Fandom pic (but then again, I also ship stuff like Link x DarkLink from Legend of Zelda, so I don't really find "Daddy x Son" that weird, if it is just about adoption [since Finland is Americas dad, not England]).
So I have nothing against some Arthur x whoever or Gilbert x whoever or I don't care what.

What I DON'T like, is when it isn't the characters, but the countries.
I know, that the characters call each other by their countries names in both the manga and anime. I accept that fans also call them by those names.
But once there is a manga or picture that ships and actually calls the charas by their countries names, I can't like it.
Simply, because I am someone who deeply adores history. If it is the characters name, then I can keep the country and person from each other and Alfred is just ONE american person instead of the WHOLE of America that gets dirty. But if there is supposed to be some sexual tension between France and England, then me being in Japan at the moment can just be considered a totally awkward sex scene (because I'm IN Japan, get it?)
So yeah, I see that people don't really differ between the names, but it makes me kinda sick to think of Sweden as homosexual, Prussia and Russia as sweeties and France and England just being a awkward couple.

So what might be the last panel about, huh?
Because I obviously not don't like it, but am TOTALY AGAINST ist.
Some maybe see it, others don't.
It's one thing to make a lover relationship between the USA and England.
It's another thing to just LEAD ALL HISTORICAL FACTS AD ABSURDUM.
Well, to be absolutly honest, I am relieved that there seem to be just a few of those cases. But two of my favorite characters are actually CURSED with it.
Prussia and Germany, in the fandom also lovingly called East and West.
Honestly, whenever I see them calling each other like that, I get goosebumps all over and feel sick.
Because whenever I read that, I can't help but imagine Prussia with his body split in half (or better: without a head, with his left arm missing, the torso cut up so that parts of his left lungs and great deals of his bowel is missing and of course without any legs).
Because it is historic canon that Prussia stopped excisting between 1941 and 1945. He disappeared. Making him west is like declaring that when south Italy would suddenly form a state of it's own, that it must be antique Rome. Nobody would (seriously) do that, because Rome stopped excisting. He is gone. Forever. Without returning.
Same goes for Prussia.
There is also the geologic part about Prussia having been all of north Germany, including great parts of Poland. And that Prussias influence is at least on German territory still found very strong in the east AND west.
So it is one thing to ship two COUNTRIES, but it makes me quite a bit angry, if these countries are historically amazingly inaccurate, and that not just once or twice for the sake of a joke or cute pic, but as some kind of fan canon.
I actually even wonder about the fans choice of taking Prussia for this, because Cyprus has given the most perfect example (which is 100% canon, since it is by Himaruya himself!) that a country which becomes split in two by the occupation of another country does create a baby brother with the features of both countries.
So instead, DDR would make more sense in being a little child that resembles both Germany and Russia.

Yeah, maybe the fact, that my family is prussian and that Prussia being east would totally deny this, makes me so persistent about it, but hey, if this is what patriotism feels like, then I am at least one step further then most germans, right? xD

I realize, that this is maybe mostly my canon and that I take it very serious because I am actually a german culture teacher and just can't take this "weird" fan canon, since it is against any logic and historical testament that I try to teach to my students (and also you guys, since my pictures are obviously not just some crack ;3)
